JDN Job Developers Network Joins the ECOS AllianceThe East County One Stop has a new partner. As of November 29, 2006, the JDN Job Developers Network will be housed under the ECOS organizational umbrella. ECOS is pleased to support this important community resource. “The JDN is a Professional Network developing employment opportunities and building connections within the communities we serve.” JDN is a national award-winning model of how workforce professionals from multiple agencies can work together to provide seamless services to job seekers and employers. This network is an excellent example of collaboration that contributes to the efficiency of a workforce system. The Oregon model connects agencies that work to move people with major barriers to employment, into and upwards in the workplace. The JDN utilizes email, Internet technology and monthly meetings to inform and connect workforce professionals to resources and opportunities they may otherwise not have known existed. The network disseminates information about upcoming events, job fairs, training, workshops, and hiring opportunities. The JDN sustains immediate and fluid communication between a group of people that by nature need to stay connected and work together in order to fill the vast needs of our job seekers and business community. The professionals that make up the JDN have a common goal, to develop opportunities for job seekers and fulfill the needs of employers. In today's employment marketplace there is an ever-increasing demand for businesses to find creative ways to reach more qualified applicants. Numerous businesses are forced to stretch and reach farther into new geographical areas and to use multiple community resources to be able to find qualified applicants to fill their hiring pools. Many workforce systems aspire to develop a unified network that brings all area workforce professionals together to collaborate rather than compete.
