Senior Safety Pin Project
Senior Safety Pin, a 1 year pilot project made possible through a grant from United Way of the Columbia Willamette to East County One Stop, Human Solutions, Inc. and Linfield School of Nursing is seeking participation by 48 eligible east county seniors who live alone and who would benefit from receiving twice-monthly in-home visits by a senior nursing student from Linfield School of Nursing. The visits will be free to all participants and under the supervision of the Linfield faculty. The purpose will be to help the senior manage his or her medications, help assess and recommend any changes needed in the home environment and provide social interaction.
To qualify:
- Senior lives alone, is 65 or older and taking more than 6 medications.
- Location: Residence is located within the project area: (north of Powell Blvd, east of 82nd Street, South of the Columbia River and west of Bonneville Dam.)
